This was interesting. The nose shows great promise with beautiful aromatics of ripe red fruits, a touch of asian spice and white pepper. The palate is dry & clean with medium acidity that is not mouthwatering or bright necessarily but merely structural. The tannins are firm, a dark backbone of fruit frames brighter red flavors and a slightly briary finish, which is not green or unripe in any way. The wine is fresh, medium-bodied, not particularly complex or layered though quite pleasant. The impression is blocky, firm and not supple or silky with no elegance to speak of. Solid but nothing special right now. The aromatics are so promising but the mouth sort of under-delivers. It is possible that there will be more integration or development in the short term, beyond the foursquare, straightforward experience it is right now. It certainly has enough stuffing to support another 5 years of age.
