We were excited to read David White’s article (http://palatepress.com/2013/03/wine/how-wine-criticism-is-changing/) not because it was earth-shattering news but because this is a trend we have tried to promote ourselves.

At Mission we have always been hesitant to relate to our customers through scores. We value personal interaction and on-going dialogs with our clients through which the subjective taste of the individual can be unearthed and/or encouraged rather than suppressed in favor of a Robert Parker score. Everything about the appreciation of wine is subjective, it is time we listened to ourselves rather than any one “gatekeeper.”
